In Mexico, meals are often shared as a ‘’family style’’ banquet. Platters of braised meats, bowls of guacamole, rice, beans and of course tortillas are served central to the table for all. Smaller items such as tacos, quesadillas and tostadas may be eaten at all times of the day, often piece by piece. A taco or two, a quesadilla and a main may make up a meal, or simply 6, 7 or 8 tacos to satisfy a lunch or dinner, at home or on the street.
The idea of our menu is also to encourage sharing. Of course it is not mandatory and if you would prefer a traditional three course dinner we can easily accommodate. However, the menu has been structured in a way to allow multiple courses, therefore experiencing a journey of flavours.
How big are the meals?
• Our tostadas, (tostaditas, mini tostadas), are simply bite size morsels with four to a board.
• Quesadillas, two 9" inch tortillas with fillings, are portioned into eighths.
• The tacos, Mexico City style, are soft shell, about 6’’ in diameter. Order singles or serves of three.
• Ceviche can be ‘mas grande’ or individual, and are often ordered as the ultimate palate cleanse.
• Lastly mains, or "comida para la familia". All mains are assembled for the purpose of sharing with ease.
Please note: We do not encourage sharing of elotes callejeros (corn on the cob)…they are just too good to share!
How much to order?
Two to three smaller food items and one main per couple could be sufficient, depending on appetites of course. If unsure, we can guide you through the ordering process. And if you’d prefer not think at all, we’ll happily order for you!
And yes, our ENTIRE menu is 100% gluten free!!!
